Natasha Peterson writes and self-publishes rhyming books for children aged 4-9. Each story shares a lesson that they can identify with. Most stories feature animals that have either inspired or amused her.

Natasha knew from a young age that she wanted to write children’s books. When she decided to pursue this dream, she submitted work to several poetry contests. The response was positive, and she was awarded a Canada Book Award for her first book – Gayle the Goose Goes Global. She has received many more awards for her writing. Natasha recognizes her love of childhood books, her friends and family, and the interest from students in her work and the process of writing as things that continue to inspire her to write.

Family members, teachers and students all inspire her.

“I love being invited into classrooms to share my stories, but also really enjoy talking about the book writing process. I get a lot of great questions from students and their interest in my work inspires me to keep writing. “
