Lanark Highlands Lavender focuses on natural skin care, therapeutics, soap, and hair care.
Deb started this business about eight years ago on a wing and a prayer. She was worried about the toxic chemicals she was adding to her life. As one with extremely sensitive skin, she researched alternative, natural approaches. She began at her kitchen sink (hence the original business name) formulating recipes copied from many sources. Family and friends started asking her to share with them and it has snowballed from there.
As she continued to make her products, she realized that there was so much to learn, and that she needed to learn from the best. She took many aromatherapy courses, but the best was with an Australian school for natural skin care.
“I am passionate for the land and how it can sustain humankind. I am at peace in my gardens and planning new ways to grow foods. But most of all I am crazy about growing my lavender fields and using the lavender in my products. I am moving closer and closer to lavender being my dream job.”
