Gwen Rousseau is an Engineer, a Certified Human Behaviour Consultant, avid speaker and trainer, as well as dedicated artisan. Through her Almonte studio, Fabrilicious Creations, she creates art and provides workshops in Fabric Sculpting as well as in Tatting.

Fabric Sculpting uses a combination of recycled natural materials, such as cotton T-shirts, bedsheets, silk scarves, wood, leather, paper, and moss, with the water-based fabric hardener Paverpol©. This works for indoor décor as well as large garden sculpture.

Rousseau is also accomplished in the art of tatting. In years gone by tatting used fine threads and a small hand-held shuttle to create doilies, and edgings for pillowcases, etc. This traditional lacemaking is revitalized today as jewellery, bookmarks, decorations, and more. Gwen became a certified Paverpol© instructor in 2014 and in 2017 took International Tatting Master Classes that greatly expanded her abilities.

“I continue to take Master Classes, and seek unique, more advanced techniques to express myself through both these art forms. I love that I can bring these two art forms into my own work, as well as providing fun workshops for others.”
